New Delhi: Hundreds of retired paramilitary veterans protested against the proposed Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026, in New Delhi, demanding its withdrawal and warning of intensified agitation if their concerns are ignored.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the bill, which seeks to codify IPS officer deputations to top CAPF posts, is seen as undermining career progression for CAPF officers, who state that the move is aimed at controlling the forces through Hindutva-aligned civil service officers adhered to the RSS ideology.<\/p>\n

The Alliance of All Ex-Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association led the protest, with demonstrators arguing that the bill contradicts a Supreme Court directive to reduce IPS deputations and conduct a cadre review. “On one hand, they laud our sacrifices, and on the other, they deal a blow to our promotions through this Black Bill,” they said.
