Muzaffarabad: An important joint meeting of the leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and the refugee representative forum was held in Muzaffarabad under the chairmanship of APHC General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting discussed in detail the current grave situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and strongly condemned the verdict of the Indian court to sentence Hurriyat leaders Aasiya Andrabi and her associates Fehmida Sufi and Nahida Nasreen.
The meeting unanimously decided that a grand protest rally would be organized as a strong public response to this cruel act to draw the attention of the international community to the ill-treatment meted out to the Kashmiri freedom fighters, especially the women leaders.
The meeting reiterated the resolve to raise the voice of the Kashmiri people at all levels.
The meeting was attended by Hurriyat leaders Sheikh Abdul Majid, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Ashfaq Majeed Mir, Ghulam Hassan Butt, Maqsood Butt, Sadiq Naqvi, Alam Mughal, Chaudhry Ismail, Nishad Butt, Maqsood Mughal, Imtiaz Lone, Muhammad Shabbir Kashmiri, Aamir Abbasi, Siddique Dawood, Raja Basharat, Bakhtiar Khan, Akhtar Butt, Qari Shahbaz, Atif Lone, Munir Konshi, Jahangir Qureshi, Sharifuddin and others.
Meanwhile, a Hurriyat delegation comprising Sheikh Abdul Majid, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Abdul Majeed Mir met with the President of the Central Bar Association, Muzaffarabad, Advocate Zaigham, and the General Secretary and invited them to participate in the protest.
The bar office-bearers assured full participation and cooperation in the protest.
In this regard, another delegation led by Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah met with the office-holders of the Central Press Club and urged the journalistic community to highlight this important humanitarian and political issue in a comprehensive manner.
