Guwahati: Armed extremists attacked a village in Ukhrul district, Manipur state of India, for the second successive day..<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the extremists, allegedly Nagas, also fired upon a group of students who were returning from the adjoining Kangpokpi district after completing their Class 10 board examinations. No one was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cMongkot Chepu village was again subjected to a coordinated armed attack allegedly by Tangkhul militants, including the use of drone-delivered explosives. An innocent civilian has been injured,\u201d the Mongkot Chepu Village Authority in a statement said.<\/p>\n
Alleging that the militants have established bunkers around the village, the village authority asked the government to dismantle the bunkers.<\/p>\n
The village authority also said two farmers tilling their fields sustained bullet injuries when the extremists fired at them on Monday (March 23, 2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are trying to control the situation, but the remoteness of the locations is making the task difficult,\u201d a district official said.<\/p>\n
Trouble also broke out in the Kuki-Zo-dominated Churachandpur district after a group of people barged into the residence of Kuki Zo Council chairman H. Thanglet on Sunday (March 22, 2026) night.
