Bengaluru: In yet another instance of Islamophobia in Modi\u2019s India, a professor at PES University in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Dr. Muralidhar Deshpande, hurled communal and abusive remarks against a Muslim student during a classroom session.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident reportedly began when the student, Affan, requested brief permission to leave the class. A video, recorded by another student, shows Dr. Deshpande reacting angrily, shouting \u201cSharm nahi aati, tumko\u201d (Don\u2019t you feel any shame?), and repeatedly calling the student a \u201cterrorist\u201d in front of around 60 classmates.<\/p>\n
The professor made additional inflammatory remarks, blaming \u201cpeople like him\u201d for the Iran war, warning that Donald Trump would \u201ccome and take him away,\u201d and stating, \u201cyou are idiots, you will go to hell.\u201d<\/p>\n
The clip quickly spread on social media, triggering widespread criticism and accusations of communal targeting. In response, PES University suspended Dr. Deshpande pending a detailed inquiry.<\/p>\n
The suspension order, signed by the Vice Chancellor, cited a student complaint without specifying the exact nature of the offense. It stated: \u201cPending detail enquiry into the matter you are kept under suspension with immediate effect.\u201d<\/p>\n
