Srinagar: Three Indian Army personnel were injured after a soldier opened fire inside a barrack in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, three Indian Army personnel were injured after a trooper, identified as Naik Driver Mechanical Transport Pawan Kumar, opened fire from his official INSAS rifle inside a military unit area of the district.<\/p>\n
The injured include Naik Driver Mechanical Transport Shukla, who suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg and is stated to be in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Another injured army man, identified as AV Rathore Dayal, received gunshot injuries to the thigh and femur, while Sepoy Manish sustained a minor splinter injury to the left buttock.<\/p>\n
All the injured personnel were immediately evacuated and shifted to 168 Military Hospital Drugmulla in Kupwara for treatment, Indian officials said.<\/p>\n
A senior official said the accused was quickly overpowered. \u201cThe individual who opened fire has been disarmed and taken into custody within the brigade. The situation is under control,\u201d the official claimed.<\/p>\n
Indian military authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the firing, and an internal inquiry is expected to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.<\/p>\n
