Srinagar: Heavy rainfall and erratic weather conditions triggered a series of road accidents across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Friday, leaving one person dead and several others injured.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, at least five accidents were reported from different districts in IIOJK, with slippery roads and reduced visibility cited as major contributing factors.<\/p>\n

In Samba district, a dumper fell into a roadside drain near Jamoda, killing the driver. In Budgam district, two persons were injured after a car overturned in the Koowosa area of Magam after losing control on a wet stretch of road.<\/p>\n

In Ganderbal district\u2019s Gund Kangan area, three persons were injured when a goods vehicle overturned, while in Srinagar\u2019s Parimpora, a man sustained critical injuries after falling from a moving vehicle. In Baramulla district, five schoolchildren were injured after a bus met with an accident near Shutloo.<\/p>\n

The spate of accidents has raised concerns about road safety especially during adverse weather in IIOJK, where sudden skidding and loss of control are common during rainfall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
