Senior AIMPLB representatives, speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, said that the Gujarat bill, currently awaiting the Governor\u2019s approval, has raised serious constitutional, legal, and democratic concerns across the country. They said it is fundamentally inconsistent with the Constitution and violates fundamental rights, including freedom, equality, and personal liberty.<\/p>\n<p>Board spokesperson S.Q.R. Ilyas said the law cannot be considered a genuine Uniform Civil Code, describing the term as misleading and deceptive. He added that the bill is politically motivated and will be challenged in the Gujarat High Court.<\/p>\n<p>The Gujarat Assembly passed the UCC Bill last week, aiming to establish a uniform legal framework for marriage, divorce, inheritance, and other family matters across all religions.
