Islamabad: Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, has urged the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva to take notice of the continued use of fake encounters by Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which target and eliminate innocent Kashmiri youth.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Islamabad, Faiz Naqshbandi referred to a recent fake encounter in Ganderbal, noting that the victim, Rashid Ahmad Mughal, was a civilian with a master\u2019s degree and had no connection to militancy. Mughal was martyred on Wednesday during a so-called cordon and search operation by Indian troops in the Arhama area of Ganderbal.<\/p>\n

The APHC-AJK leader condemned India for violating international law and human rights standards in the occupied territory, asserting that these brutal operations are part of a systematic attempt to consolidate its occupation.<\/p>\n

He said that since 1989, the Indian forces have killed over 96,000 men, women, and children in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and thousands remain missing.<\/p>\n

Urging the international community to act, Naqshbandi called for exerting pressure on India to end human rights abuses in IIOJK and to implement United Nations resolutions for the final resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
