Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief, Mamata Banerjee, has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to divide the state, adding it would attempt to do so through reorganization of assembly constituencies if it comes to power.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Banerjee was peaking at an election rally in Harirampur in South Dinajpur district.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe BJP is plotting to divide West Bengal by rearranging Assembly seats. It has been planned to create a separate state with some areas from Bihar and some for West Bengal. They (BJP) will be able to do that only if they come to power. So we have to defeat them (BJP) again this time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Banerjee also asked the people assembled at the rally to be vigilant about the possibility of the BJP trying to prevent genuine voters from going to the polling booths by using the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) deployed for the forthcoming two-phase Assembly election in West Bengal later this month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no room for complacency. So I am asking my brothers and sisters in the district to be extremely vigilant,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She further said that the BJP is attempting to influence voters by distributing money through an outsourcing agency, which is reportedly asking people for their bank account details.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey (BJP) are asking for your bank account numbers. But do not make the mistake of passing on your bank account details to them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
In a separate rally at Rajganj in the same district, Banerjee said that she had full details of which agencies have been appointed by the BJP to bring in huge cash to West Bengal and distribute among people.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will reveal all these at the right time,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Elections for all 294 seats of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly are scheduled for April 23 and 29.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
