Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Congress president Tariq Hameed Karra has said that the BJP-led Indian government is treating the Kashmiri people as \u201csecond-class citizens\u201d by denying them their political rights, including statehood.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Tariq Hameed Karra, while addressing a party rally at Ghou Manhasan in the Marh constituency on the outskirts of Jammu, said that key decisions regarding Jammu and Kashmir are being taken by New Delhi through its Lieutenant Governor despite the presence of an elected government in IIOJK.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe BJP-led Indian government is treating people here in Jammu and Kashmir as second-class citizens by depriving them of statehood. Key decisions are being taken by New Delhi through its nominated head Lt. Governor, despite an elected government being in place,\u201d Karra said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe dual-control system is the root cause of the prevailing uncertainty and lack of accountability,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He urged people to question the BJP over its failure to deliver on promises of restoring Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s statehood and ensuring development despite securing a strong mandate in the Jammu region.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe unemployed, daily wagers, contractual, and temporary employees are suffering due to a lack of an adequate financial package from New Delhi.
