Muzaffarabad: A massive protest demonstration was held in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, against the killing of a Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter by Indian troops in Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir a few days ago.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of Kashmiri refugees, Hurriyat activists, lawyers and members of civil society participated in the protest. The protesters took to the streets, raising high-pitched slogans against India and in favour of freedom.<\/p>\n

The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-India slogans and demands for the Kashmiri people\u2019s right to self-determination.<\/p>\n

Speakers on the occasion said that India has imposed an oppressive military occupation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and is routinely targeting innocent and unarmed Kashmiris through fake encounters and state terrorism. They strongly condemned the Ganderbal incident, terming it a gross violation of human rights.<\/p>\n

They urged the international community and human rights organizations to take notice of the ongoing atrocities by Indian forces in the occupied territory and play their role in ensuring justice for the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

The speakers reaffirmed their resolve that the Kashmiri people will continue their peaceful struggle at all costs until they achieve freedom from Indian rule, adding that Indian repression cannot weaken their spirit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
