Street vendors, particularly women and minorities, face economic marginalization through forced evictions, harassment, and extortion by authorities under the guise of urban planning.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2025, National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) reported relentless harassment in areas like Delhi where authorities ignored legal protections under the Street Vendors Act (2014) to forcibly seize goods and dismantle stalls.
