Guwahati: In India, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the residence of the younger brother of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA- Independent) chief Paresh Baruah in Assam\u2019s Tinsukia district.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack took place late Sunday night at the residence of Mission Baruah, brother of Paresh Baruah, when unknown assailants fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene. No casualties were reported in the incident.<\/p>\n

Police officials said that an investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend those involved, while security in the area has been intensified. Additional forces have been deployed, and search operations are underway in nearby localities.<\/p>\n

The incident comes at a time when Indian authorities are carrying out ongoing operations against the ULFA (Independent) in Assam. Paresh Baruah, who is believed to be operating from Myanmar, is facing multiple charges, including alleged involvement in orchestrating improvised explosive device (IED) blasts in the region.<\/p>\n
