Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, widespread protests continued across Ramban district and along the Jammu\u2013Srinagar highway for the third consecutive day today against the fatal assualt on Kashmiri Muslim youth by cow vigilantes in the district.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, 25-year-old Tanveer Ahmad Chopan, a resident of Mundkhal in Pogal area, was travelling from Jammu to his native village with a milch cow and calves when he was chased and brutally assaulted by members of so-called \u201ccow protection\u201d groups in the Kamarkote area.<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses said that in a desperate attempt to save his life, the youth jumped into Nallah Bishlari.<\/p>\n
The incident has triggered widespread anger, with protests erupting across Ramban district and along the Jammu\u2013Srinagar highway. The victim\u2019s family and local residents staged a blockade of the highway for several hours, demanding justice and swift action against the attackers.<\/p>\n
The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over mob violence targeting Muslims under the pretext of \u201ccow protection\u201d in India, particularly in BJP-ruled regions.<\/p>\n
Observers say the latest episode reflects a disturbing pattern of increased communal vigilantism, where minorities are subjected to violence with impunity, often leading to loss of life and heightened tensions.<\/p>\n
