New Delhi: Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, senior National Conference leader and Indian parliament member from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), has strongly criticized the Modi government over the proposed delimitation, saying that such steps are being taken to win the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ruhullah Mehdi, speaking in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the three bills, said this process will badly affect the federal structure and the balance between the states, adding his party opposes these bills.<\/p>\n
He warned if the new delimitation is implemented, the southern states will suffer and the balance of power will tilt towards the northern states and only four or five large states will have the power to make decisions in the country and even the issues related ot IIOJK will be decided by these states.<\/p>\n
Ruhullah Mehdi said the Modi government wants to push Bengal towards a serious situation like that of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the government should know what has happened to the occupied territory. He added that during the so-called delimitation in IIOJK, the population ratio was changed in a way that benefited a particular political party, the BJP. Now the whole of India is worried that an attempt is being made to change the population ratio on religious grounds, he said.<\/p>\n
He said all opposition parties, including his party, support women’s reservation, but they will not allow the Modi government’s attempts to gain political advantage through delimitation under the guise of this bill to succeed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
