Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the Indian BJP government, in gross violation of international laws, has continued house raids and crackdown operations, employing brutal measures to silence Kashmiris from expressing their legitimate demand for Azaadi in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said in an attempt to strip Kashmiris of their identity and rights, India\u2014after abrogating Articles 370 and 35A and dividing the disputed territory into two Union Territories\u2014is implementing anti-Kashmir and Hindutva-driven agendas. He added that domicile rights are being granted to non-Kashmiris on a fast-track basis to alter the demographic composition of the territory.<\/p>\n
He further said India is systematically paving the way for settler colonialism in IIOJK by subjecting Kashmiris to continuous atrocities under the guise of cordon-and-search operations, crackdowns, and house raids conducted on a daily basis, thereby depriving them of their basic human rights.<\/p>\n
The statement added that, as part of its policy, the BJP regime was constructing separate colonies in the occupied territory, a process that had accelerated since the revocation of Kashmir\u2019s special status in August 2019.<\/p>\n
APHC said the BJP-led Indian government has turned IIOJK into a living hell, where the fate of millions of Kashmiris remains uncertain. It emphasized that it is high time for the international community to intervene and take practical steps toward resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute, to protect the Kashmiri people from what it described as the brutal onslaught of Hindutva policies under the BJP regime.<\/p>\n
The APHC reiterated a durable solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in the Two-Nation Theory framework, under which Kashmir will become part of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The statement also demanded the immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmeeda Sofi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aiyaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Dr Hamid Fayaz, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom, Dr Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Zaffar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, and Hayat Ahmad Butt, who are currently lodged in various prisons across India and IIOJK.<\/p>\n
The APHC spokesman also appealed to UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres and international human rights organizations to help secure the release of all detained Hurriyat leaders, activists, youth, ulema, human rights defenders, and journalists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
