Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Indian police have arrested three more persons in Sopore area of Baramulla district, taking the total number of arrests to 16 over the past week amid an ongoing crackdown.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, police claimed the detainees were spreading \u201cmisinformation\u201d on social media and disturbing law and order.<\/p>\n

The arrests come in the wake of peaceful protests staged earlier this week by students and local youth against the molestation of a girl student at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Sopore.<\/p>\n

Following the demonstrations, Indian police launched a sweeping crackdown, targeting students and local residents through raids and search operations. Individuals have been detained under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).<\/p>\n
