New Delhi: The notorious Indian investigation agency, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started proceedings in another old fake case of 1996 against illegally detained senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Shabbir Ahmed Shah.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, this fake case against Shabbir Ahmed Shah was registered on July 17, 1996 at the Shergarhi police station in Srinagar.<\/p>\n
He was produced in the Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Friday evening in connection with the case, which granted him a three-day transit remand. He will be produced in a court in Jammu on Monday.<\/p>\n
The Indian Supreme Court had granted bail to Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a fake case on March 12, but instead of releasing him, he was implicated in another false case.<\/p>\n
Shabbir Ahmed Shah has been languishing in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar jail for more than eight years.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, APHC senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar lamented that even after serving 39 years of his life in jail for his political beliefs, Shabir Ahmed Shah, now old and criticality ailing, is yet again persecuted despite the bail granted to him by the Indian Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
He said, “This is very unfortunate and worrying. This revolving door policy completely undermines the justice system, where one case replaces another to ensure continued incarceration.”<\/p>\n
He urged the Indian authorities not to prolong the suffering of Shabbir Ahmad Shah and his family and let him be set free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
