Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, transporters across the Kashmir Valley have called for a complete shutdown on Monday against the proposed expansion of Smart City bus services to various districts.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, representatives of the transport community said the move could jeopardize the livelihood of thousands of families dependent on private transport. They expressed concern that the decision would further strain an already struggling sector.<\/p>\n
A transporters\u2019 leader, Shabbir Matta, voiced strong resentment, saying the extension of Smart City buses to district routes has created uncertainty among private operators.<\/p>\n
The transport body said modernization of public transport should not come at the cost of existing stakeholders and urged the authorities to review the decision through dialogue.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Kashmir Trade Alliance urged the occupation administration to address the concerns of transporters and initiate talks to avoid disruption to daily life and business activities across the Valley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
