New Delhi: In an utter reflection of repression, incarcerated MP Engineer Rashid from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and has sought interim bail to visit his father, who is battling for life in a Srinagar hospital.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) on Friday moved an application before the court seeking interim bail for Rashid, whose father has been hospitalised in critical condition. AIP chief spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said, \u201cAt such a time, it is only humane that a father gets to see his son and a son is allowed to be beside his ailing father.\u201d He added, \u201cThis is not merely a legal matter but a deeply emotional situation that calls for empathy and sensitivity.<\/p>\n
Er Rashid\u2019s father deserves to see his son in these critical moments and equally, Er Rashid deserves to be with his father. Humanity must prevail.\u201d Several political leaders across the occupied territory have backed the demand, calling New Delhi\u2019s continued detention of elected representatives inhumane.<\/p>\n
Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who visited Rashid\u2019s father at SMHS Hospital Srinagar, said, \u201cThis silent suffering of political prisoners lodged in jails across India and in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and their families is heartbreaking.\u201d He urged New Delhi to release Rashid \u201cat least on humanitarian grounds.\u201d<\/p>\n
National Conference MLA Tanvir Sadiq also urged authorities to consider parole on humanitarian grounds.
