Lahore: Chairman of the All Pakistan Colleges and Academies Association, Rana Ansar Mahmood, has said that raising awareness about the Kashmir cause among the younger generation is the need of the hour, stressing that educational institutions must play their role effectively in this regard.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Rana Ansar Mahmood expressed these views during his visit to the Kashmir Center Lahore, where he held a meeting with the in-charge of the Center, Inam-ul-Hassan. He emphasized that students must be made aware of the importance of Jammu and Kashmir for Pakistan and why the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, termed it the country\u2019s \u201cjugular vein.\u201d
Rana Ansar Mahmood said that the Kashmir dispute is not merely a political issue but is directly linked to Pakistan\u2019s security and stability. He added that Kashmir is closely connected with Pakistan in every respect\u2014religious, ideological, regional, geographical, and defensive.
He paid tribute to the ongoing freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people and said that the younger generation must be fully informed about the history and current realities of the Kashmir dispute. He further noted that students should be educated about the fact that India\u2019s occupation of Kashmir was actually aimed at destabilizing Pakistan, given its strategic importance. He remarked that Kashmiris are, in essence, fighting not only for their freedom from Indian yoke but also for the completion of Pakistan.
He underscored the need to organize seminars, conferences, and other programs in educational institutions to raise awareness among youth, especially students, adding that quiz competitions could also be used to familiarize students with information about the Kashmir cause.
He assured that the All Pakistan Colleges and Academies Association would fully support the activities of the Kashmir Centre
