Chennai: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of \u201cterrorising\u201d political parties and people by misusing government machinery and central agencies to stifle the opposition.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kharge made the remarks on the last day of campaigning in Tamil Nadu, which goes to polls on April 23. Addressing a press conference in Chennai, Kharge referred to the Prime Minister as a \u201cterrorist\u201d.<\/p>\n

When asked to clarify, Kharge said he meant Modi was \u201cterrorising\u201d the democratic fabric. \u201cHe is terrorising people and political parties. He is misusing his power and government machinery against opposition parties,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kharge alleged the Election Commission had become an \u201cextension of the BJP office\u201d and accused Modi of violating the Model Code of Conduct. He also claimed CBI, ED, and Income Tax departments were being used to intimidate political workers.<\/p>\n
