Srinagar : Human rights activists have criticized India for continuing a disinformation campaign on the Pahalgam incident in an attempt to malign innocent Kashmiris and Muslims through unverified and fabricated claims.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rights activists said that even a year after the incident, Indian authorities and affiliated voices continue to circulate what they described as \u201cstale and forged\u201d narratives regarding Pahalgam, aimed at misleading the international community.<\/p>\n
The activists noted that allegations are largely based on Indian intelligence claims without independent verification. They pointed out that such assertions have been questioned in international forums, with calls for credible forensic evidence to substantiate the claims.<\/p>\n
The rights activists said that available reports by international human rights organizations have highlighted internal factors behind unrest in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including public protests over detentions and political repression, rather than external involvement.<\/p>\n
Pakistan has consistently rejected India\u2019s allegations, while independent open-source assessments have also indicated indigenous triggers behind such incidents.<\/p>\n
Observers are of the view that the continued projection of external blame reflects a broader pattern by New Delhi to deflect attention from the ground realities in the territory, including growing alienation among the Kashmiri population.<\/p>\n
