According to Kashmir Media Service, today (April 23, 2026) (Phase 1), crude bombs exploded at the Nowda (Nowra) polling booth in Murshidabad, injuring several voters who were rushed to hospitals and halting democratic voting.<\/p>\n
Clashes erupted in Domkal and Nowda involving stone-pelting, vehicle vandalism, and lathi-charges, even as heavy Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel (316 companies out of 2,407 for Phase 1, the highest in any district) were deployed.<\/p>\n
