{"id":199326,"date":"2026-04-30T17:31:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T12:31:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/?p=199326"},"modified":"2026-04-30T17:40:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T12:40:59","slug":"iiojk-hc-quashes-psa-detention-of-baramulla-resident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/2026\/04\/30\/iiojk-hc-quashes-psa-detention-of-baramulla-resident.html","title":{"rendered":"IIOJK HC quashes PSA detention of Baramulla resident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Srinagar: The High Court in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed a detention order issued under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) against a Baramulla resident, holding that the authorities\u2019 failure to execute the order for over two years cast serious doubt on its validity.<br><br>According to Kashmir Media Service, Justice Sanjay Dhar allowed a petition filed by Altaf Ahmad Waza, challenging detention order dated August 6, 2019, passed by the District Magistrate of Baramulla.<br><br>The petitioner had approached the court contending that the detention order was illegal, passed without application of mind, and lacked any factual basis.
