Srinagar : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and president of Anjuman Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan al-Moosvi al-Safavi, has expressed serious concern over the growing drug menace in the territory, describing it as a \u201csilent devastation\u201d that is eroding the moral, spiritual, and social fabric of society.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing the Friday congregation at the central Imambara Budgam today, Agha Syed Hassan said that the increasing use of drugs is not merely a social issue but a calculated assault on the youth. He said it is a catastrophe unfolding quietly, consuming the faith, morality, and future of younger generation, warning that its consequences could be irreversible if not addressed with urgency and seriousness.<\/p>\n
He stressed the need for a comprehensive, sustained, and uncompromising strategy to deal with the crisis. Referring to the Holy Quran, he cited Surah Al-Ma\u2019idah (5:90), which declares such substances as impure acts of Satan and commands believers to abstain from them. He emphasized that substance abuse is not simply a harmful habit but a destructive force that must be resisted collectively and decisively.<\/p>\n
The senior Hurriyat leader urged authorities to create meaningful employment opportunities for youth. He also advised parents to properly guide their children and closely monitor their upbringing, social circles, and daily activities.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the crucial role of teachers, the APHC leader noted that education must go beyond academic instruction and included character building and moral guidance.<\/p>\n
Agha Syed Hassan also underlined the responsibility of religious scholars, stating that they should use their platforms to raise awareness, guide the youth towards faith and righteousness, and reinforce the message that true dignity and peace lie in obedience to Allah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
