Jammu: The Congress has lashed out at the administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for its failure to resolve basic civic problems and rising unemployment.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Congress held its monthly meeting, which was presided over by working president Raman Bhalla in Jammu. Bhalla said people were facing severe hardships due to irregular water supply, unscheduled power cuts, damaged roads, poor drainage systems, and inadequate sanitation in urban and peripheral areas of Jammu. He termed it a reflection of \u201cadministrative apathy and lack of accountability.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raising concern over unemployment, Bhalla said the lack of concrete job opportunities and delays in recruitment had caused frustration among youth, while inflation had further burdened economically weaker households.<\/p>\n

He urged the authorities to step up preparations ahead of the monsoon season to prevent untoward incidents, stressing the need to clean drainage systems, prevent waterlogging in vulnerable areas, and ensure disaster preparedness to safeguard lives and property.<\/p>\n
