Srinagar: The BJP-led Indian government\u2019s repeated claims of \u201cwomen empowerment\u201d have come under serious scrutiny as ground realities in Manipur reveal a deepening humanitarian and human rights crisis, particularly affecting displaced women living in relief camps under distressing conditions.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, reports and testimonies lay bare the fact that women displaced by the violence in Manipur continue to live in overcrowded relief camps that lack basic facilities, security, and dignity.<\/p>\n

Many of these camps, described by residents as \u201copen-air prisons,\u201d have become symbols of neglect where women face daily hardship, fear and uncertainty. Victims say they remain vulnerable to harassment and intimidation, with little or no effective protection from authorities.<\/p>\n

Survivors have highlighted that even within these camps, their voices are often dismissed. Women reported being questioned about their clothing and conduct when raising concerns, reflecting a disturbing culture of victim-blaming rather than support.<\/p>\n
