He was previously arrested for raising communal slogans during the Bharat Jodo Andolan rally at Jantar Mantar in August 2021. At a religious gathering in Ghaziabad, he labeled Muslims as “jihadis,” made unsubstantiated claims about Muslim soldiers, and called on Hindus to prevent Muslims from purchasing property in Hindu-majority areas.

In February 2026, Raksha Dal members painted “Road Not for Muslims” on a highway in Uttar Pradesh, an act Chaudhary defended by falsely claiming that only Hindus pay taxes in India.

Hindu Raksha Dal, is a Hindu nationalist vigilante outfit based in Ghaziabad, near Delhi. Its members are involved in inciting communal hatred, distributing swords, raising anti-Muslim slogans, and attacking minority communities. In August 2024, Chaudhary led a mob that vandalised a Muslim settlement in Ghaziabad, burning homes and assaulting residents while hurling religious slurs.

Critics say such acts and statements by Raksha Dal leaders deepen communal divides in India. Despite repeated complaints, the Hindutva organisation and its leadership have largely avoided serious legal consequences.

The latest video has reignited demands for strict action against hate speech, religious discrimination, and the culture of impunity enjoyed by Hindutva vigilante groups in India.

New Delhi: Hindu Raksha Dal chief Bhupendra Tomar, popularly known as Pinky Chaudhary, has once again triggered widespread outrage for openly targeting Muslims, exposing the deep-seated communal hatred propagated by Hindutva forces in India.
