Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, members of the All Daily Wagers Jammu and Kashmir Sangharsh Samiti [Action Committee] held a protest demonstration near the Press Club in Jammu, demanding immediate resolution of their pending issues.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, daily rated workers from various departments, led by Samiti president Sunnykant Chib, assembled near the Press Club and staged a demonstration. Holding banners and placards, the protesters raised slogans in support of their demands.<\/p>\n
Several senior members of the Samiti addressed the gathering and criticized the occupation administration for its failure to address the concerns of daily rated workers.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Chib said that despite repeated representations and protest dharnas, the government had remained unmoved and officials had only given false assurances.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing concrete has materialized so far,\u201d he said. He said the Samiti had set a deadline of May 11, 2026, for the administration to resolve issues affecting daily wage workers. Chib said the Samiti has been pushing for policy reforms, including regularization and implementation of minimum wages, and has repeatedly appealed to the Lieutenant Governor and the elected government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to expedite the demands.<\/p>\n
He warned that if the demands were not settled within a week, workers would adopt a \u2018No Pay, No Work\u2019 stance and proceed with an indefinite hunger strike.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
