New Delhi: Authorities have introduced QR code-based verification for enumerators and supervisors visiting households for Census 2027 in Delhi, in response to rising cyber fraud and impersonation cases.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, officials of the Office of the Registrar General and Census said all enumerators and supervisors will carry appointment letters and identity cards with embedded QR codes that residents can scan to verify authenticity. The safeguard comes as fraudsters pose as government officials using fake documents and digital verification requests, with recent \u201cdigital arrest\u201d scams and fake census messages raising public concern.<\/p>\n

Officials said 93,521 self-enumerations were recorded, with 77,372 completed cases, achieving an 82.73 percent completion rate. Most entries came from North East, South West and North West Delhi districts. They added that a layered verification system, including supervisor oversight for every six house listing blocks, has been put in place to make the process smoother and more reliable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
