Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian administration has intensified its campaign of demolishing and confiscating Kashmiris\u2019 properties under the guise of an anti-drug crackdown.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the authorities today demolished a civilian\u2019s residential house in Kulgam district and attached multiple properties in Srinagar worth nearly Rs 6 crore.<\/p>\n
In Kulgam, police razed the house of Nafees Ahmad Dar in the Barzloo Jagir area. Police had earlier registered fabricated cases against Nafees Ahmad in 2020 and 2021, and against his wife, Ruqia Jan, in 2023 and 2024. Reports said that Ruqia Jan is currently lodged in Central Jail Srinagar.<\/p>\n
In Srinagar, police attached two residential houses, eight shops, a vehicle, and parcels of land belonging to three Kashmiri civilians under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The action was carried out by Police Station Khanyar.<\/p>\n
The attached properties include a double-storeyed residential house and eight shops built on 4.5 marlas of land, belonging to Nazir Ahmad Mir of Khanyar, against whom a fake drug-related case was registered in 2020.<\/p>\n
In another case registered this year, police attached a Scorpio vehicle, seven marlas of land, and a temporary structure in Miskeen Bagh belonging to Gulzar Ahmad Mir.<\/p>\n
Separately, a single-storeyed residential house built on nine marlas of land in Lone Mohalla, Nowpora Khanyar, belonging to Zahid Manzoor Rather, was also attached in connection with a case registered in 2020.<\/p>\n
The New Delhi-imposed IIOJK administration, operating under the Lieutenant Governor, has launched a fresh wave of property demolitions and seizures across the occupied territory, targeting Kashmiris\u2019 homes, land, and businesses under the pretext of anti-drug operations.
