New Delhi: A Dalit youth in Delhi\u2019s Mehrauli has accused an unidentified man of hurling casteist slurs and threatening him, while alleging that Delhi Police has failed to register an FIR despite video evidence and details of the accused\u2019s vehicle.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, the incident occurred when Vipin Kumar Duggal was returning home on his motorcycle. The youth said the altercation began near the residence of former mayor Satbir Singh following a minor road dispute.<\/p>\n
The accused, riding a black Hero Splendor motorcycle bearing registration number DL3SFP1057, allegedly pushed him and shouted, \u201cWe are Pundits, you are a rat\u2026 yes I am telling you,\u201d the complaint states. When Duggal started recording, the man reportedly claimed to be an army personnel and said police could not act against him. Duggal said he called police helpline 112 and filed a written complaint at Mehrauli police station, DD No. 145A. He alleged the accused later arrived at the station with associates and tried to intimidate him on the premises.<\/p>\n
Despite providing the vehicle number and mobile details, no FIR has been registered so far. The victim said Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar, the investigating officer, failed to respond to repeated follow-ups.<\/p>\n
Frustrated by the inaction, Duggal emailed the DCP South, ACP Mehrauli and the SHO on May 12, and approached the National Commission for Scheduled Castes citing violations under the SC\/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
