Palandri (AJK): A speech competition titled \u201cOccupied Kashmir and Defenders of Human Rights\u201d was held at Government Girls High School Palandri, Sudhnoti, under the joint auspices of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, students from various educational institutions across Sudhnoti district participated in the competition and delivered speeches highlighting the Kashmir freedom movement and human rights in a broader global perspective.<\/p>\n
The chief guest on the occasion was Digital Media Head of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell, Najeeb-ul-Ghafoor Khan, while District Education Officer Misbah Ilyas Khan presided over the event. The ceremony was attended by institutions\u2019 Principal Shahnaz Qadeer Khan, officials from the education department, teachers, civil society representatives, and a large number of students. Educationists Fouzia Kabir and Shamim Akhtar performed the duties of judges.<\/p>\n
Addressing the event, Najeeb-ul-Ghafoor Khan said the Liberation Cell is organizing awareness campaigns, seminars, and speech competitions in educational institutions to educate the younger generation about the historical aspects of the Kashmir issue and human rights violations committed against Kashmiris by Indian forces.<\/p>\n
He said such initiatives help instil a sense of awareness and responsibility among students. He further said that in the modern era, alongside traditional approaches, understanding emerging technologies and artificial intelligence is essential to effectively highlight human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir at the global level.<\/p>\n
Referring to the educational and social challenges faced by students in occupied Kashmir, he urged students in Azad Kashmir to set higher educational and professional goals so they can emerge as future leaders in the struggle for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
Misbah Ilyas Khan said that efforts to raise awareness among youth regarding the national cause through social media by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell are commendable.<\/p>\n
