Srinagar : Protests by non-gazetted employees of Government Medical Colleges in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are intensifying as workers continue demonstrations against prolonged denial of promotions, pending recruitment rules and worsening service conditions under the BJP-led administration.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the peaceful protest by non-gazetted employees of Government Medical College and Associated Hospital Rajouri entered its 10th consecutive day on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The employees, led by GMC Employees Union president Nasir Khan along with other union representatives, are demanding the immediate formulation and finalization of Recruitment Rules that have remained pending since 2019.<\/p>\n
The protesting employees said the authorities have failed to address their legitimate demands despite repeated representations over the years. They said the continued delay has created uncertainty among workers and severely affected their professional future and morale.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, employees of Government Medical College Baramulla also held a peaceful candlelight protest against long-pending promotions and unresolved service issues. The protesting workers said many employees have not received promotions for the past seven years despite rendering dedicated service in the health sector.<\/p>\n
The employees expressed frustration over administrative apathy, saying prolonged stagnation has caused mental stress, financial hardship and growing resentment among the workforce. They maintained that the continued neglect of employees\u2019 rights exposes the hollow claims of good governance and administrative efficiency made by the BJP-led Indian government in the occupied territory. The protesters appealed to the authorities to immediately resolve the pending issues through dialogue and ensure justice for employees working in difficult conditions across the territory.<\/p>\n
The growing unrest among government employees reflects deepening dissatisfaction with the functioning of the administration in IIOJK, where workers in various sectors continue to face uncertainty, neglect and denial of basic service rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
