He criticized the administration and forest department for acting without properly verifying the historical presence and rights of the tribal population. He urged the authorities to immediately halt such operations, probe the incident and ensure rehabilitation and resettlement of the affected families.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, CPI-M leader and MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami also slammed the demolition campaign, describing it as insensitive and unjustified. He said Gujjar and Bakerwal families were already living in difficult conditions and such actions only added to their suffering and insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe affected families have been staying in these areas for years. Any move that leaves poor people without shelter must be viewed seriously and handled with humanity,\u201d Tarigami said.
