Srinagar : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior APHC leader and President of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi, has expressed deep concern and anguish over the large-scale demolition drive and displacement of members of the Muslim tribal community in the Sidra area of Jammu.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Agha Hassan made these remarks while addressing the Friday congregation at Markazi Imam Baragah in Budgam.<\/p>\n

Condemning the demolition campaign, he said that targeting the Gujjar-Bakerwal community under the guise of law enforcement raises serious concerns about justice and governance in any democratic and civilized society. He said that the ongoing demolition operations have rendered several families homeless, describing the situation as highly disturbing and contrary to the principles of humanity and justice.<\/p>\n

Agha Hassan warned that such actions are part of a systematic and dehumanizing anti-Muslim agenda, which, he said, is in full swing since 2014. He appealed to public representatives, social organisations, and human rights bodies to come forward and play a role in stopping this sustained campaign of persecution against vulnerable Muslim communities in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n

Pertinently, the IIOJK Forest Department, acting on the orders of the New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor, has recently intensified its demolition drive against tribal and nomadic families by razing at least 30 residential structures of Gujjar and Bakerwal families in the Sidhra area of Jammu under the pretext of an anti-encroachment campaign. The demolished structures included Gujjar Kothas and temporary hutments inhabited by nomadic families who have lived and grazed their cattle in the area for decades.
