Srinagar: An Indian Army helicopter crashed in Leh district of Ladakh region in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leaving three army officers, including a Major General, injured<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Cheetah helicopter crashed in the Tangtse area near Leh during a routine sortie in the high-altitude region.<\/p>\n

Three officers, including a Major General, sustained injuries in the crash.<\/p>\n

A Lieutenant Colonel and a Major were piloting the single-engine helicopter, while the passenger onboard was Major General Sachin Mehta, General Officer Commanding of the 3 Infantry Division. A formal inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n

The incident has once again drawn attention to the ageing fleet of Cheetah and Chetak helicopters used by the Indian armed forces, especially in high-altitude regions such as Ladakh and the Siachen glacier, despite repeated crashes and longstanding calls for their replacement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
