Dehradun,: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a firm stance against the offering of Namaz on roads, stating that such practices will not be allowed in the BJP-ruled state.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, reacting to remarks by a senior Congress leader advocating permission for Namaz on roads, CM Dhami said that religious prayers must be confined to designated places such as mosques and Eidgahs. He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt traffic.<\/p>\n
With a large number of Hindu pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra, the Chief Minister said ensuring smooth traffic flow remains the government\u2019s top priority. He noted that the heavy influx of pilgrims has already created administrative challenges, and any activity obstructing public roads would not be tolerated.<\/p>\n
Dhami further assured that the state government is committed to providing a hassle-free experience for pilgrims during the Yatra season and would take all necessary steps to prevent any religious gatherings on roads that could disrupt movement of Hindu pilgrims.<\/p>\n
It is noteworthy that in Modi\u2019s India, especially in BJP-ruled states, regulations regarding religious gatherings on public roads are often applied selectively.
