Srinagar: Indian forces have intensified a massive cordon and search operation in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as \u201cOperation Sheruwali\u201d entered its third consecutive day amid heightened militarization and surveillance in the area.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, a joint team of the Indian Army, police and the Central Reserve Police Force launched the operation on Saturday in the dense forests of the Dorimal-Gambhir Moghla belt.<\/p>\n

Indian army claimed that an encounter broke out shortly after the operation began in the Gambhir Moghla area. Since then, Indian troops have continued extensive searches across the forested terrain while maintaining a strong cordon around the area.<\/p>\n

Officials said additional troops have been inducted to expand the operation into adjoining areas, while drones, sniffer dogs and surveillance equipment are being extensively used in the operation.<\/p>\n

Locals said the continued operation has created fear and panic among residents, as heavy troop deployment, intensified surveillance and prolonged searches have severely disrupted normal life in the area. They said such large-scale military operations have become a routine feature in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, further deepening the atmosphere of intimidation and insecurity among the civilian population.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
