Srinagar: Continuing to dispossess Kashmiris on one pretext or another, Indian authorities have seized immovable properties belonging to two civilians in Islamabad and Reasi districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, police, acting on the orders of New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, confiscated a residential house belonging to Aamir Hassan Mir, a resident of Dupatyar in Bijbehara area of Islamabad. The property is estimated to be worth around INR 1 crore.<\/p>\n

In another similar action, police attached two residential houses owned by Jamad Ali, a resident of Kheri Paroh in Katra tehsil of Reasi. The properties are valued approximately INR 45 lakh.<\/p>\n

Authorities claimed that the actions were part of its ongoing crackdown against narcotics trafficking under the so-called Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that since the abrogation of IIOJK\u2019s special status in August 2019, the BJP-led Indian government has intensified its campaign of dispossessing Kashmiris of their residential homes, land, and other structures.<\/p>\n

Those monitoring the situation in IIOJK say the goal is to weaken Kashmiris economically and gradually alter the territory\u2019s demography by transferring land and assets to non-local Hindus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
