\nSrinagar : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah on Eid-ul-Adha and prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the people’s prayers, sacrifices and ibadaat.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, in his Eid message, Mirwaiz said this Eid is being observed in a sombre atmosphere following the deeply tragic incident involving a minor girl in Budgam, which has shaken the conscience of the people of Kashmir and left society in deep shock and grief.<\/p>\n
It is worth mentioning here that a 12-year-old girl from Galwanpora, Budgam, was abducted, raped, and murdered after going missing while on her way to a local tuition center. The brutal killing has sparked widespread outrage across Kashmir.<\/p>\n
Mirwaiz said that the heartbreaking incident raises serious questions about societal direction and calls for collective introspection.<\/p>\n
He said that he had intended to personally visit Budgam to offer condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved family, but occupation authorities placed him under house arrest and denied permission to visit, which he described as deeply unfortunate. He said that even basic humanitarian gestures of sympathy and condolence were being prevented.<\/p>\n
He said that Eid teaches the values of sacrifice, compassion, empathy and standing with one another during difficult times. He also appealed to people to remember in their prayers those languishing in jails and separated from their families.<\/p>\n
Praying for peace and wellbeing, Mirwaiz said that may Allah grant society peace, safety, mercy and forgiveness, and guide people collectively and individually towards building a better and more compassionate society.<\/p>\n
Pertinently, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was once again placed under house arrest in Srinagar and was not allowed to lead Eid prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid or Eidgah in the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
