United Nations: Pakistan has rejected India’s allegations of cross-border terrorism at the United Nations Security Council, taking the position that in fact India itself is involved in terrorist acts abroad and there is clear evidence of its covert activities.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Counsellor of Pakistan Mission to the United Nations Saima Saleem, while responding to Indian allegations in the Security Council meeting, said the arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav is living proof of India\u2019s covert operations in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Indian delegate Harish Paruthani had accused Pakistan of sponsoring cross-border terrorism, in response to which the Pakistani delegate exercised his right of reply and challenged India\u2019s position.<\/p>\n
The discussion took place during the Security Council meeting on \u201cProtection of the Purposes and Principles of the United Nations Charter and Stability of the United Nations-Centralized International System\u201d.<\/p>\n
Saima Saleem said Jammu and Kashmir is not an internal matter of India but an international dispute that India itself had taken to the United Nations. She said India is violating the UN Charter and Article 25 by not implementing the Security Council resolutions. She also termed India\u2019s attempt to keep the Indus Waters Treaty suspended as a serious violation of international law.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani delegate said India is involved in acts such as state-sponsored terrorism, use of proxies and extrajudicial killings, but it cannot hide the traces of its crimes.<\/p>\n
Referring to the recent Quetta train bombing, she said the Baloch Liberation Army\u2019s acceptance of responsibility is another example of Indian-sponsored terrorism in which innocent men, women and children were targeted.<\/p>\n
Saima Saleem also strongly criticized the treatment of Muslims, Sikhs, Dalits and Christians in India. She said that under the Hindutva ideology, discriminatory measures against more than 200 million Muslims, mob violence, demolition of mosques and Islamophobic statements are in front of the international community.<\/p>\n
She said history will remember those who respect the UN Charter in practice, not those who only mention it in words but violate it in practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
