Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has termed the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal after the BJP\u2019s assembly election victory as \u201cappalling\u201d, warning that neutral institutions like police are being weaponised against political opponents.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mufti said in a post on X that \u201cmurderous assaults\u201d were being orchestrated against opposition leaders, citing the recent attack on TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee by a crowd. \u201cThis is certainly not the change people of West Bengal voted for,\u201d the Kashmiri politician said, criticising the BJP for turning democratic space into a theatre of intimidation after coming to power.<\/p>\n
