Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has expressed grave concern over Indian authorities\u2019 ongoing campaigns of property confiscations, seizures, and demolition drives in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the demolition drives in Jammu that have severely impacted marginalized Gujjar and Bakarwal communities. He termed the measures \u201csystematic repression\u201d and \u201ccolonial-era tactics\u201d of collective punishment designed to render Kashmiris homeless, landless, and economically dependent.<\/p>\n

Iqbal also raised concern over attachment of properties belonging to Kashmiri human rights activists, intellectuals, and political leaders under the draconian laws like UAPA and money-laundering probes, saying such actions have created fear and trauma among families of activists and civilians.<\/p>\n

The DFP spokesman further voiced concern over continued imprisonment of party president Shabbir Ahmed Shah and other Kashmiri prisoners in Indian jails, and urged world human rights organizations to use their influence to secure their early release from fake and fabricated cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
