Srinagar: The New Delhi-installed administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir continues to target Kashmiris through demolitions, property seizures and punitive actions under various pretexts, further deepening fears of collective punishment and economic marginalization.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police, in coordination with the Revenue Department, demolished a three-storeyed residential structure in the Rainawari area of Srinagar under the so-called \u201cNasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan\u201d. Authorities claimed that the property belonged to an individual accused in narcotics-related cases and alleged that the structure had been built on encroached state land.<\/p>\n
Police stated that the building, estimated to be worth around Rs 2 crore, was demolished.<\/p>\n
The demolition is the latest in a series of actions carried out by the authorities under different pretexts.<\/p>\n
Observers say such actions have increasingly been used to justify the demolition, attachment and confiscation of properties belonging to Kashmiris across the occupied territory.<\/p>\n
Political analysts and civil society observers have expressed concern over the growing trend of punitive property actions, arguing that these measures often have far-reaching consequences for entire families and communities.
