Jammu: The health of Mushtaq-ul-Islam, illegally detained leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has deteriorated severely in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu region, but the jail administration is not providing him with proper medical facilities.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushtaq-ul-Islam is suffering from diabetes, due to which his renal system has been severely affected. His feet are severely swollen while his eyesight has also been lost by almost 90 percent. Despite his serious illness, the occupying Indian administration is not only keeping him in prison continuously but is also not providing him with medical treatment.<\/p>\n
Human rights activists say that depriving political prisoners of medical facilities is a clear violation of international human rights norms and rules and regulations.<\/p>\n
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesperson in a statement in Srinagar also expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health of Mushtaq-ul-Islam. He said his life is in grave danger due to the negligence and apathy of the Indian authorities. He said depriving the Hurriyat leader of medical facilities is a completely inhumane attitude.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson appealed to the United Nations, international human rights organizations and the world community to intervene immediately and save Mushtaq-ul-Islam\u2019s life and put pressure on India to provide him with immediate and proper treatment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
