Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have sharply increased restrictions and surveillance days ahead of Amarnath Yatra by deploying a range of advanced gadgets.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the police have been equipped with portable RCIED jammers, explosive and liquid explosive detectors, vehicle-mounted scanners and multi-type CCTV systems.<\/p>\n

IGP Sujit Kumar Singh supervised a physical inspection-cum-live demonstration of the equipment in the Kashmir valley.<\/p>\n

Officials said the exercise showcased enhanced screening and surveillance along the yatra track.<\/p>\n

The heightened restrictions come ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra scheduled to begin July 3. While authorities claim the measures will ensure a \u201csafe and hassle-free pilgrimage\u201d, locals note that such massive deployment of jammers, scanners and surveillance equipment invariably leads to increased checkpoints, movement curbs and frisking in areas along the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
