New Delhi: A 28-year-old Indian youth from Telangana was shot dead at point-blank range in Philadelphia, US, while on a pizza delivery job, family and officials said.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Anshul Kuncha of Gundlapochampally, Medchal Malkajgiri district, received what is suspected to be a fake delivery order to a deserted location past midnight. After reaching the spot, two masked men allegedly opened fire and shot him multiple times in the head before fleeing.<\/p>\n
Nothing was stolen from him. Anshul, an MBA student who went to the US in 2023, was working part-time as a pizza delivery executive to earn extra money. His sister Tanvi said the delivery was a \u201ctrap meant solely to kill him\u201d and that \u201cthere was no one there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Family members said Anshul had earlier been robbed in the US. US authorities are expected to hand over the body on Monday. The Consulate General of India in New York said it is in touch with local authorities and Anshul\u2019s family, and is extending all possible assistance.<\/p>\n
Multiple questions are being raised over the motive behind the killing as nothing was robbed. Police have not confirmed whether the attack was racially motivated, a targeted hate crime, or a premeditated murder. Two masked gunmen carrying backpacks were reportedly spotted near the scene.
