\"\"Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party government, that came to power in the Indian state of West Bengal following the recent disputed elections, has started the process of reviewing madrasas across the state and has directed all district magistrates to submit a detailed report on the madrasas established in their respective districts by July 5.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, a notification issued by the Department of Minority Affairs and Madrasa Education said the review of madrasas is an administrative exercise and complete information about the date of establishment of the madrasas, registration status, number of students studying as well as teaching and non-teaching staff has been sought from the district magistrates.<\/p>\n

Madrasas will also have to clarify whether the madrasa concerned is residential or non-residential, whether it is privately or government-aided and what is the curriculum.<\/p>\n

A senior officer of the Minority Affairs and Madrasa Education Department said if any irregularities are found in any madrasa, appropriate action will be taken as per the law.<\/p>\n

It may be recalled that last month, the West Bengal Directorate of Madrasa Education had issued an order making it mandatory to recite \u2018Vande Mataram\u2019 in full during the assembly prayers before the commencement of classes in all government-aided and approved madrasas across the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
